Season of Creation
Pope Francis formally added the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation to the Catholic calendar in 2015, following his landmark environmental encyclical Laudato Si'. It is a dedicated time for Catholics and other Christians worldwide to pray, reflect on ecological responsibility, and take concrete action to protect our shared environment ("our common home").
Activities: Parishes and communities often mark the five-week period through prayer services, educational programs, outdoor liturgies, and environmental clean-up or sustainability initiatives
2026 Theme: This year's official theme is “Living Water,” inspired by the biblical vision in Ezekiel 47:1-12 of life-giving water flowing from the temple to heal and renew the earth.
