Who are we?
We are a national organization of over 50,000 women officially recognized by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB). The CWL is affiliated with the World Union of Catholic Women’s Organizations (WUCWO), who holds membership in the conference of International Catholic Organizations (ICO) and has consultative status with agencies of the United Nations.
Why Join the League?

How do I join?
All women, age 16 and up, are invited to take out membership in the Catholic Women’s League of Canada through parishes that have CWL councils. We offer both regular memberships for Catholic women, and Associate memberships for non-Catholics.

For over 50 years, Development and Peace has supported 15,200 local initiatives in fields such as agriculture, education, community action as well as the consolidation of peace and advocacy for human rights in 70 countries.

With the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from today, 8 December 2020, to 8 December 2021.
